Description

The King’s School was founded in 1545. Its history tracks back to the fourteenth century choir school which was replaced by Henry VIII in 1545. It has a great history starting out with 1335 when Bishop John de Grandisson actually bought the manor from the Dean and Chapter of Rouen who'd owned it since 1061. Later it became a grammar school. The King's School holds an OUTSTANDING graded record by Ofsted with the last inspection having taken place in 2014 for which the school was awarded this grade in every category. This community friendly comprehensive school, provides a range of learning for approximately 1150 students. Their philosophy is "Achievement for All" believing that every person has unique skills and potential.
