A license has been issued by Natural England (the government's adviser on the natural environment, providing practical scientific advice on how to look after England's landscapes and wildlife) to allow the release of the family of beaver's which have been living along the River Otter.
Devon Wildlife Trust still faces the task of funding the River Otter Beaver Project. When an initial call for donations were made, a fantastic £45,000 was raised in just two months. However the cost of the five year monitoring project is estimated to run well above this figure.
Any donations to the charity can be made via the Devon wildlife trust website or by phone on 01392 279244.
