Royal Clarence Hotel Fire Update

You may already have heard that the Royal Clarence Hotel (Exeter) has now been handed back to their owners and that the emergency response phase of the fire has now ended.

The area is now in recovery phase and key organisations and interested bodies have met to discuss and plan a back to normal state for all parts of the city, businesses and its community.

Unfortunately the Royal Clarence Hotel has suffered immense damage and further demolition will be required on parts which may not be safe or have structural damage.

Exeter City Council have setup a helpline which is available if you are a business and need information 01392 265134

There is also a building fund for anyone wishing to make a donation to the building fund.  They support the Official Historic Exeter Fire Appeal http://tinyurl.com/ExeterFire

I'm sure you will all join me in wishing the Royal Clarence Hotel, staff and business owners affected by this tragic fire all the best in getting back to normal.  Also a special mention to all the fire fighters who worked so hard over the last few days to tackle the fire.
